To honor John Glenn, who died late last week at the age of 95, and whose Space Shuttle Discovery mission in 1998 was officially labeled STS-95, AMC Theatres® (NYSE:AMC) is playing THE RIGHT STUFF beginning today, Dec. 12, at 95 AMC locations.
This multi-Oscar® winning 1983 film, in which Glenn is portrayed by four time Academy Award® nominee Ed Harris, brilliantly depicted NASA's Mercury space exploration efforts of the 1960's. Participating AMC locations will show the movie on Monday at 7 p.m., and Tuesday and Wednesday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Previously this year, AMC responded to guest demand with unique programming offerings by honoring Prince (PURPLE RAIN), Gene Wilder (WILLY WONKA & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY and BLAZING SADDLES), and Muhammad Ali (ALI). In October, in conjunction with back-to-school, AMC partnered with IMAX® to show a week of space documentaries in IMAX at AMC auditoriums, along with educator guides for teachers. And on November 8, AMC carried CNN's election night returns in AMC Theatres.
