Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: ARW) Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Michael J. Long was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award for Professional Achievement from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at its annual Founder’s Day luncheon on Saturday.

The award is the highest honor the University bestows upon an alumnus or alumna and is presented to UW-Whitewater graduates who have exhibited distinguished professional, personal and career achievement, and are recognized for accomplishments in their field.
Long graduated from UW-Whitewater in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He was also a member of the university’s football team.

Long has been with Arrow since 1991, and he was named CEO in 2009. Arrow is currently ranked 119 on the FORTUNE 500 and was recently named to FORTUNE’s “Most Admired Companies in the World” list for the 17th consecutive year.
Long serves on the board of directors of AmerisourceBergen and the Denver Zoo. He lives in Colorado.
