American Water CEO Susan Story and CFO Linda Sullivan Discuss Solutions to a More Sustainable Water Future at One Water Summit 2017

American Water (NYSE: AWK), the nation’s largest publicly traded water and wastewater utility company, today announced President and Chief Executive Officer Susan Story, and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Linda Sullivan will participate in the One Water Summit 2017 from June 27- 29 in New Orleans, LA.

“Water cuts across so many of our country’s most pressing issues, and no one can address these challenges alone,” said Story. “The One Water Summit is an important event not only for solutions-focused conversations about how we value and manage water to foster economic prosperity, community well-being, and environmental sustainability, but also demonstrates our commitment to collaborate with industry leaders so we can continue to provide safe, clean, affordable and reliable water to our customers.”

Convened by the US Water Alliance, One Water Summit 2017 brings together hundreds of leaders from across the country to engage in thought-provoking dialogue, share best practices, set strategic priorities, and move forward on actionable ideas.

Story will take part in a discussion that will focus on the ongoing need for collaboration between the energy and water sectors. She offers a unique outlook through her leadership roles in both water and energy utilities and will highlight several American Water projects that demonstrate the ever-increasing interconnectedness of these sectors, which will provide utilities with opportunities for greater efficiency and better service.

Sullivan will participate on a panel that will emphasize how both public and private investment and expertise are needed to tackle the water infrastructure crisis. She will provide the perspective of an investor owned utility and discuss opportunities to break down existing barriers to private investments, statutory and regulatory hurdles that challenge private-public sector innovation and cooperation, and ways to maximize the options and opportunities available to communities.

Both panel discussions will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017.
