Missouri American Water's 2016 Water Quality Reports Now Available

Missouri American Water announced today that the company’s 2016 Water Quality Reports are now accessible through its website at https://amwater.com/moaw/water-quality/water-quality-reports, as well as via printed copies that can be mailed to customers. By providing two easy ways for customers to receive confirmation that their drinking water meets all federal standards for water quality, the company is working to increase the public’s understanding of the value of water.

Also known as the Consumer Confidence Report, this report compares the quality of water supplied by Missouri American Water against standards established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and enforced by the Missouri Dept. of Natural Resources. The report describes local drinking water sources and shares test results, including all substances detected in the water and their levels.

Missouri American Water treatment plants are members of the Partnership for Safe Water. The Partnership is a national voluntary initiative developed by the EPA and other water organizations to recognize water suppliers that consistently achieve water treatment standards that surpass EPA requirements. Fewer than one percent of water utilities in the U.S. have achieved this recognition. Five of the company’s treatment plants – including all four in St. Louis County and a fifth in Joplin – recently received 15-year Director’s Awards from the Partnership, while another in Jefferson City is expected to reach that mark next year.

“The focus of everyone here, every moment of every day, is providing safe, reliable water to our customers,” said Missouri American Water President Cheryl Norton. “These annual results aren’t just numbers, they are a testament to our teams of water quality, plant operation, and water distribution professionals who work hard to ensure the highest quality water and service for our customers. We’re proud to share these reports with the public in order to encourage greater awareness of all that goes into delivering our most precious resource.”

In addition to online access, customers can ask for a hard copy to be mailed to them by contacting customer service at 1-866-430-0820.
