Voltabox Enlarges Management Board

- Dr. Burkhard Leifhelm appointed Vice Chairman of the Management Board with responsibility for Development, Purchasing and Production

- Patrick Zabel becomes member of the Management Board with responsibility for Finance and Human Resources

Delbrück, Germany, May 26, 2020 - Voltabox AG [ISIN DE000A2E4LE9] is expanding its Management Board. The Supervisory Board has named Dr. Burkhard Leifhelm and Patrick Zabel, who were previously Vice Presidents, regular members of the Management Board with immediate effect.

Dr. Burkhard Leifhelm will become Vice Chairman of the Management Board. As Chief Technology Officer, he is responsible for Purchasing and Production as before, and he will henceforth oversee Development too. Patrick Zabel will as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) continue to be responsible for Finance and Human Resources. Chief Executive Officer Jürgen Pampel, who had been the sole member of the Management Board since July of last year, will focus on sales and investor relations. Manfred Schmidt, Vice President for Sales, will also assume responsibility for the US business.

"It is therefore only logical that they should be appointed regular members of the Management Board, where they will add to the effectiveness and expertise of the Board. A reinforced management team is also helpful with regard to the planned change of the principal shareholder of Voltabox AG."

Dr. Burkhard Leifhelm (47) studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University and earned his doctorate there. Before joining paragon, the parent company of Voltabox, in February 2016, he worked for more than ten years at Hella KGaA, ultimately as head of the unit Operational Excellence. At paragon, Leifhelm started out as Managing Director of the paragon production company. In 2017, he was appointed Director of Mechanical Systems and Production, and in 2018, he was also named Managing Director of the paragon subsidiary paragon movasys GmbH. In July 2019, he assumed new responsibilities at Voltabox as Vice President of Purchasing and Production. Leifhelm is an established REFA specialist and holds several lectureships.

After completing an apprenticeship as a banker, Patrick Zabel (30) supplemented his training with an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of Münster. He worked as a corporate account manager at a large savings bank and later served for a number of years as a project manager at accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). At PwC, Zabel was responsible for auditing large, capital market-oriented companies and advised clients on basic accounting issues in accordance with IFRS and HGB. In the autumn of 2018, he moved to Voltabox, where he was appointed Vice President of Finance and Human Resources in July 2019. Zabel is an expert in international accounting.
