represented 27.8% of sales in 2017, vaccines accounted for 14.6%, rare diseases
represented 8%, diabetes 18.2% and general consumption pharmaceuticals 13.8%. This
last segment includes pharmaceuticals for the treatment of allergies and colds, pain
relief and nutrition. In geographical terms, Sanofi is well diversified with 33% of sales in
the USA, 28% in Emerging Markets, 26% in West Europe and 13% in the Rest of the
World.
