Citi Private Bank Strengthens Metro NYC Office with New Talent

Citi Private Bank announced today that Jacob Alvarez has joined the firm as a Private Banker on the Metro New York team, reporting to Ida Liu, Global Market Manager – Metro NY. In this capacity, he will provide wealth management services to New York based clients and Financial Sponsor clients. This is the third appointment within Citi Private Bank’s Metro New York team in recent months as the bank looks to expand the office and client offerings. “We continue to grow our wallet share amongst New York based ultra-high net worth clients who want a Private Bank with global capabilities as many competitors have decreased their geographic footprint. Jacob has over 10 years of financial experience, and a varied skill set in fixed income, equities and alternative investments that our clients will benefit from,” said Ida Liu.

Mr. Alvarez joins from J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where he was a member of the Financial Sponsors Group. Prior to J.P. Morgan, he was an investment banker focused on leveraged finance and capital market transactions at both Citi and UBS, where he raised an aggregate $40 billion for clients across North and South America. Mr. Alvarez graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley. He is also actively involved with Sponsors for Educational Opportunity and AID for AIDS International Inc.

“I look forward to leveraging Citi’s global platform on behalf of our New York based clients and offering them tailored financial strategies. The Citi Private Bank brand resonates well beyond New York and is highly regarded among the global citizens we serve in the private equity, hedge fund and family office space,” said Mr. Alvarez.

Citi Private Bank is dedicated to serving worldly and wealthy individuals and families, providing customized private banking across borders. With approximately $390 billion in global assets under management, the franchise includes 48 offices, serving clients across 130 countries. Citi Private Bank helps clients grow and preserve wealth, finance assets, make cash work harder, safeguard assets, preserve legacies, and serve family and family business needs. The firm offers clients products and services covering capital markets, managed investments, portfolio management, trust and estate planning, investment finance, banking and aircraft finance, as well as art and sports advisory and finance.
