First American Mortgage Solutions President Kevin Wall Named HousingWire Vanguard

First American Mortgage Solutions, LLC, a subsidiary of First American Financial Corporation (NYSE: FAF) and leading provider of lender and servicer solutions that cover the entire loan spectrum, today announced that Kevin Wall, president of the Mortgage Solutions group, was awarded HousingWire magazine’s Vanguard Award™. Wall was recognized for his leadership in the residential mortgage industry and overall contributions to the U.S. housing economy.

“I am deeply honored by this recognition, which represents much more than just my efforts,” said Wall. “First American’s enduring influence on the housing market is a result of the dedication of our exceptional people, who share a commitment to serving our customers, lenders and investors with excellence.”

Selected by HousingWire’s editorial staff, this year’s 40 Vanguard Award winners were chosen for their demonstrated leadership and influence on the housing industry at large.

"The HousingWire Vanguards continued to impress going into its second year; the winners are second-to-none, and this list represents the finest cross-section of mortgage talent available," said Jacob Gaffney, HousingWire editor-in-chief.

Wall joined First American in 2013 to manage the consolidation of several previously separate organizations under the First American Mortgage Solutions banner. Establishing a shared strategic vision for the new group was among Wall’s first priorities. Under his direction, First American Mortgage Solutions codified its focus on a total quality manufacturing process and superior customer experience as the Pursuit of Certainty in Lending™.

During his tenure, Wall has overseen the acquisitions of Interthinx, Forsythe Appraisals and TD Service Financial Corporation and their integration into First American Mortgage Solutions. Together with First American’s broader capabilities, the group has made significant investments in data assets to build and maintain the nation’s largest property records database, recently achieving 100 percent U.S. coverage of property ownership data — an industry first.

Vermilion Compass: Weekly Equity Strategy

Major Low Likely in Place on S&P 500 In our 2/25/25 Compass, we discussed our expectation for near-term downside as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) displayed several bearish short-term developments. We also said it likely means at least another 2-4 weeks of consolidation, that one or two 8-10% pullbacks in a given year on the SPX is common (even during bull markets), and to not be surprised if there is a test of the bottom of the range at either 5770-5850 or 5600-5670, where we would be buyers...

Vermilion Compass: Weekly Equity Strategy

Treasury Yields Reversing Higher Our outlook remains neutral and we continue to expect the 4165-4200 level to cap upside on the S&P 500. With that said, there has yet to be any meaningful deterioration, and a move up to test the August 2022 highs in the 4300-4325 range is not out of the question. Either way, we continue to preach caution and believe that upside is limited on the market indexes. Treasury yields are starting to reverse above multi-month downtrends, and we are monitoring for simil...
