Cyber Academy of South Carolina Now Accepting Enrollment for 2017-18 School Year

Cyber Academy of South Carolina (CASC), an accredited, full-time online public charter school, welcomes families with students in kindergarten through 12th grade to enroll for the 2017-18 academic year. Open to all students who reside in South Carolina, CASC offers an individualized approach to learning, using engaging curriculum to ensure every student receives an exceptional learning experience.

The school’s rigorous and engaging curriculum includes courses in English/language arts, math, science, history, world languages, art and music, as well as elective and Advanced Placement® courses for high school students. CASC also has partnerships with colleges around the state so that high school students have the opportunity to earn college credit. Qualifying students have the ability to access the Advanced Learners program at CASC.

Additionally, CASC offers students the Destinations Career Program providing career technical education courses designed to prepare students to enter the workforce or pursue other post-secondary options. Students are exposed to relevant technical and specialty trade skills in one of two career clusters: business management and administration and information technology. Each cluster is designed to give students a head start on their career goals by preparing them for technical and specialty trade certifications, or offering college career credits and workplace experiences.

“Our curriculum and instruction are designed let our students discover their own learning style and foster a life-long love of learning,” said David Crook, head of school at Cyber Academy of South Carolina. “Giving younger students the ability to progress faster through subjects at which they excel and, at the same time, giving them time for remediation in the subjects where it’s needed ensures they achieve a mastery of topics and skills before entering high school. Combine this with the ability to learn in a truly blended environment and we feel we’ve found the path to success.”

CASC operates Learning Labs in Columbia, Charleston, Greenville, Myrtle Beach, Beaufort, Rock Hill, Aiken, and Florence. These locations provide face-to-face tutoring, small group instruction, and support for students and their learning coaches (typically, the parent or guardian). CASC also provides online access to the small group tutoring sessions that take place at its Learning Lab locations for students unable to attend in-person.

State-certified teachers provide instruction, guidance and support, interacting with students and parents via email, web-based classrooms, online discussions, phone and face-to-face meetings. As a public school option, there is no tuition.

CASC is now accepting enrollments for the 2017-2018 school year. Parents are encouraged to attend one of the online information sessions hosted by the school each month. More information on CASC and upcoming events can be found at http://casc.k12.com/.
