Vocera CMO Bridget Duffy, MD, Earns Two Awards Honoring Women in Leadership

Vocera Communications, Inc. (NYSE:VCRA), a recognized leader in clinical communication and workflow solutions, today announced that Chief Medical Officer Bridget Duffy, MD, has earned two awards for her relentless and influential work to restore humanity in healthcare. Dr. Duffy is also the co-founder of the company’s research collaborative, the Experience Innovation Network, an international group of thought leaders focused on researching, co-designing and disseminating innovative solutions that improve quality, safety and efficiency, while improving healthcare experiences for patients, families and care teams.

The Silicon Valley Business Journal named Dr. Duffy an honoree of its 2017 Women of Influence Awards, a program that shines the spotlight on women in Silicon Valley who make a difference through philanthropy and community leadership. Dr. Duffy and the other nominees will be profiled in a special report published by the journal. The awards ceremony is May 18.

Dr. Duffy also was recognized as one the Most Powerful Women in Healthcare IT for 2017 by Health Data Management. The accolade is given to women in healthcare who wield influence in shaping the direction of the industry. Health Data Management will recognize award recipients at its Most Powerful Women in Healthcare IT Conference on May 17. Dr. Duffy’s colleague, Liz Boehm, research director at Vocera and the Experience Innovation Network, will be a speaker at the conference, addressing change management for resilience, well-being and joy.

As the chief medical officer of Vocera, she helps design the next generation of healthcare innovations that bridge communication gaps, improve care team collaboration, and address clinician well-being and resilience.

She is also a co-founder of the National Taskforce for Humanity in Healthcare and currently serves on the advisory boards of Stanford Medicine X, Velano Vascular, Hygge Health, Maven Clinic and the Institute for Healthcare Excellence. Considered a leader of the patient experience movement, Dr. Duffy is a frequent speaker on how humanizing healthcare impacts quality, safety and outcomes.
