Waters Corporation Elects Flemming Ornskov to Board of Directors

Waters Corporation (NYSE: WAT) today announced Dr. Flemming Ornskov, Chief Executive Officer of Shire plc, has been elected as a Director of Waters® Corporation effective today.

Dr. Ornskov was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Shire plc in April, 2013, where he serves as Chairman of the Executive Committee, and is a member of the Board of Directors. Dr. Ornskov brings broad operational and medical knowledge, and extensive international, strategic and operational experience in the pharmaceutical sector. Prior to Shire, Dr. Ornskov held key executive leadership positions at Bayer, Bausch & Lomb, Inc., Merck & Co., Inc. and Novartis AG. Dr. Ornskov received his MD from the University of Copenhagen, his MBA from INSEAD, and his Master of Public Health from Harvard University. Before his business career, Dr. Ornskov, trained as an intern and resident in pediatrics at the University Hospital of Copenhagen.
