Chicago Hotels Are Out of “The Loop” for a Quick Recovery

The Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic has hit Chicago hard. The city instituted strict guidelines, starting in March of 2020, such as closing indoor dining and implementing a 10-day quarantine for all incoming visitors. Because of this, hotel occupancy has seen an unprecedented decline, with December 2020 occupancy measuring just 27%, down from 57% in December 2019.
