Further to the chip we found in the Apple TV remote controller, we have now discovered an additional chip from Nordic Semiconductor in the main streaming hub itself, meaning that the company will chip two multi-protocol chipsets per unit of Apple TV sold, making this a bigger revenue opportunity given that we believe Apple TV is likely to ship in the tens of millions annually. Both nRF52833 and nRF52840 are included, and both support concurrent connectivity on Bluetooth LE and Thread.Nordic Semiconductor is a fabless semiconductor company which designs, sells and delivers integrated circuits and related intellectual property for use in short-range wireless applications. Co. is engaged in ultra-low power wireless solutions, based on its proprietary 2.4 Gigahertz Radio Frequency and Bluetooth Smart technology.
