Kimberly opts to extract costs and invest in its brands to change the tide of its sales trajectory.

Reflecting a continued inability to reignite its top line (which slumped 1% on an underlying basis in the fourth quarter), Kimberly-Clark announced intentions to slash its workforce, eliminating 5,000-5,500 individuals, or 12%-13% of its global employees, and to shutter or sell 10 manufacturing facilities (around 10% of its network).
