Saint-Gobain Abandons Pursuit for Control of Sika; Modest Impact to FVE
Saint-Gobain and Sika have announced that they have reached a deal that will end Saint-Gobain’s pursuit to obtain control of Sika. Saint-Gobain had previously intended to gain control via acquisition of Schenker-Winkler Holding AG, the holding company of Sika’s founding family. Due to extraordinary voting rights, acquiring SWH’s 17% interest in Sika would have given Saint-Gobain 52% of the voting rights, and therefore control of the company.
