As expected, regulatory relief for banks is set to be signed into law by President Trump, after passing through the House and the Senate. Because the bill needed the support of both republicans and democrats, a middle ground was needed and as such the bill only made moderate changes to existing regulations, most notably leaving the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau alone.
