COVID: the superiority of the Asia-Pacific strategy
China and East Asian and Pacific countries have succeeded in virtually eliminating COVID by combining strict lockdowns, tracing and isolation , which differs markedly from the situation in Europe and the United States. In Asian-Pacific countries, this prevents uncertainty and health "stop and go" cycles, and enables an improvement in confidence and an economic recovery that more than offset the loss of activity caused by strict lockdowns. We document the superiority of this strategy over the European and US strategy.
