What to make of Angela Merkel’s “economic performance”?

Angela Merkel has been Chancellor of Germany since 22 November 2005. What to make of her economic performance since then? We can look at different indicators: Productivity, investment, growth and living standards; The quality of the education system and employment; Public finance management (public spending, taxes, deficits, etc.); Overall macroeconomic management (savings-investment); The speed of economic modernisation and innovation; Climate and energy policies; Competitiveness, market shares and industry. We can conclude that Merkel's economic performance has been negative on the whole, with a deterioration in the majority of the indicators and three positive exceptions: Germans' standard of living, innovation and the climate.
