Eutelsat Communications is a private telecommunications satellite operator involved in the design, establishment, operation and maintenance of satellite telecommunications systems covering a large geographical area (extended Europe (including North Africa and the Middle East), sub-Saharan Africa, parts of America and Asia). Co. provides its customers broadcasting capacity and associated services to transmit TV programmes via satellite, cable or Internet Protocol (IP) networks. As of June 30, 2013, Co. owned and operated 31 satellites in geostationary orbit and 4 satellites in inclined orbit.

Co. operates four business segments: Fresenius Medical Care; Fresenius Kabi; Fresenius Helios; and Fresenius Vamed. Fresenius Medical Care provides dialysis care and dialysis products for patients with chronic kidney failure. Fresenius Kabi is engaged in the provision of generic drugs, infusion therapies, clinical nutrition products, related medical devices and transfusion technology. Co.'s products include ZANIPRESS®/ZANEXTRA®/LERCAPREL®/LERCARIL®, an antihypertensive drug; ZANIDIP®/CORIFEO®/LERCADIP® (lercanidipine), an antihypertensive drug discovered and developed in Co.'s research laboratories; UROREC® (silodosin), a new drug indicated for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia; and LIVAZO®/ALIPZA® (pitavastatin), a statin for the treatment of dyslipidemia, among others.

Co.'s residential property portfolio is concentrated in the regions of Thuringia / Saxony, the greater metropolitan areas of Berlin and Hamburg, and the Salzgitter and North Rhine-Westphalia regions while its commercial portfolio is situated in locations such as Hamburg, Berlin and Munich. As of Dec 31 2013, Co.'s portfolio consisted of 70,587 units and comprised of 4,582,344 sq. m. of floor area.
