Oil prices were flat in February as excitement about possible increases in Chinese demand dimmed. Refining margins were lower, after the big jump in January in the run up to the product sanctions. Diesel cracks fell, but petrol cracks continued to improve. Margins are now back to normal, but high, levels. Petrochemicals margins remained close to the bottom, as they have done for a few months. The oil demand statistics for Europe look healthy, despite the headwinds.
