In July 2022, the design of the new Swiss-Ski race suit was revealed. But the journey to reach this point was a long one. The unveiling of the final outfit was preceded by a lengthy process that involved numerous different parties. Working with MySports and Filmgerberei, Sunrise and Swiss-Ski documented the entire development story and captured it on film. Now the documentary has won a gold Dolphin at the Cannes Media & TV Awards in the Web Documentaries category. «A new race suit always represents an exciting moment in skiing. That’s why I’m especially happy that we were able to do this for the fans – that we were able to document the creation process and thereby capture a moment of sporting history. And the fact that this film has now won an award as well is testament to the editorial quality and significance of the sport of skiing,» says André Krause, CEO of Sunrise. The documentary is divided into four parts. To start with, it explains why a fast ski race suit is so important, while the second part discusses the variety of design options and addresses effective manufacturing methods. In the third part, Swiss-Ski athletes go on to test Levada under simulated conditions. The fourth episode features the unveiling event and shows Swiss skiers on the slopes, sporting the new Levada look. «I’m very pleased that the Levada project managed to win over the jury. Together with our colleagues from Filmgerberei, we poured our heart and soul into this documentary. I'm really proud and delighted that our commitment has paid off,» says Toby Stüssi, Head of Content at MySports. The Levada suits saw their first competition in Sölden on 23 October 2022, when Swiss-Ski athletes took part in the Alpine Ski World Cup. The Swiss ski stars, in their new gear, snagged a total of 57 World Cup podium places and seven medals at the Ski World Championships in the 2022/2023 racing season.
