Arizona Virtual Academy Accepting Second Semester Enrollment for Families Seeking Online School Option

Arizona Virtual Academy (AZVA), a public charter school serving Arizona students in grades K-12, is currently accepting second semester enrollment applications for the 2016-2017 school year. According to a spring 2016 survey conducted by Edge Research, 93 percent of the families with students enrolled in the school during the 2015-2016 school year felt that their child had benefitted academically from the curriculum.

AZVA is currently accepting second semester high school applications until Jan. 25, 2017, and applications for grades K-8 until March 8, 2017. Phoenix Business Journal recently ranked AZVA 38th among the top 50 public high schools in Arizona based on SAT scores.

By blending online instruction and hands-on curriculum, AZVA gives Arizona students in grades K-12 the chance to learn in ways that are right for them. With the support of Arizona-licensed teachers, students can achieve greater academic success, confidence, and independence, both in school and beyond.

The school encourages families and students to apply if they are seeking an alternative to traditional brick-and-mortar education. At AZVA, students have more ability to tailor their own schedules to meet their unique needs. AZVA believes education should not be a standard one-size-fits-all model, but rather, that a personalized education sets each student up for success.

AZVA uses the award-winning curriculum and tools provided by K12 Inc., the nation’s largest provider of proprietary curriculum and online education programs.

Throughout the state, AZVA locations offer blended learning opportunities that combine online courses with in-person instruction. These blended learning programs feature the high-quality education offered by AZVA, as well as on-site instruction and student enrichment to provide students with a well-rounded and high-quality education.

“We believe we must meet the needs of our diverse student populations through innovative uses of technology, effective teachers and instruction and partnerships with our families and communities,” said Kelly Van Sande, head of school at Arizona Virtual Academy. “Our schools will remain devoted to making quality, tuition-free, online public education accessible for all Arizona students – regardless of geographic, financial, or demographic circumstances.”
