Idaho Technical Career Academy Kicks Off 2017-18 School Year

Idaho Technical Career Academy (ITCA), Idaho’s only career-focused virtual school, begins its 2017-18 school year on Sept. 5. A full-time online public charter school, ITCA serves high school students statewide.

ITCA utilizes career technical education (CTE) to uniquely prepare career-focused students in grades 9-12 who are interested in pursuing a job, college degree or both for life after high school. All students complete a career exploration program and can choose from a variety of courses in in-demand career fields such as web development, business administration, health science and agriculture manufacturing. Students can get ahead by earning college credits and start down the pathway of earning industry-recognized certifications.

The online school setting enables students in any geographic area of the state to utilize this unique curriculum. Furthermore, the flexible learning environment enables students to partner with professionals and companies to apply the skills they are learning in a specific industry.

ITCA teachers are Idaho-credentialed and provide instruction, guidance and support, interacting with students and parents via email, web-based classrooms, online discussions, phone and face-to-face meetings.

“Essential to any successful society is an educated and trained workforce,” said Monti Pittman, head of school at Idaho Technical Career Academy. “Our course offerings, which allow students to explore and focus on occupations of interest, have the capacity to enrich a student’s educational experience while maximizing their ability to be successful in the community and in the work force.”

ITCA is still accepting enrollments for this fall. For more information, please visit http://itca.k12.com.
