Insight School of Kansas Students Head Back to School

Students at Insight School of Kansas (ISKS), an accredited, full-time online public school, will begin the 2017-18 school year on Aug. 14. The statewide school serves students in grades 7-12, as well as qualified adult learners.

ISKS serves families who seek alternatives to traditional brick-and-mortar education. Through live and recorded class sessions that are accessed online, students and their teachers can engage and interact as if they were sitting together in a traditional classroom.

The comprehensive education approach at ISKS focuses on providing students with the academic, social and emotional support needed in school and beyond. The online learning environment allows students with unique educational needs to work at their own pace within parameters, giving them time to progress faster in subjects at which they excel, while spending more time on subjects and lessons where they need more help.

“We provide the opportunity for students to learn in an environment that they can help shape,” said Lauren Weber, a high school world history teacher and the social studies department chair at Insight School of Kansas. “By allowing them to learn in an environment that is more conducive to their education, they are more likely to succeed and thrive.”

ISKS serves middle and high school students of all abilities and also provides targeted support for struggling students. Qualified students can also take college courses and earn both college and high school credit at the same time through concurrent enrollment.

In addition, the Adult Learner Program gives those in the Kansas community an opportunity to complete their high school diploma, no matter how long ago or at what point they left school. Students who are past their fifth-year cohort and have not earned a traditional high school diploma have the chance to do so, no matter their age.

At ISKS, state-certified teachers provide instruction, guidance and support, interacting with students and families via email, web-based classrooms, online discussions, phone and face-to-face meetings. This ensures that students and their families feel supported yet challenged in their education in a way that may be different for every student.

ISKS is still accepting enrollments for this fall. To learn more, visit http://ks.insightschools.net.
