Nevada Virtual Academy Invites Students to Enroll for 2017-18 School Year

Nevada Virtual Academy (NVVA), a full-time online public charter school, is now accepting enrollment for the 2017-18 school year. The tuition-free public school is available for students in kindergarten through 12th grade throughout the state of Nevada.

NVVA provides a blended program that combines online learning with face-to-face instruction. The school has blended learning sites in Las Vegas and Reno where students can meet and engage with a state-licensed teacher in-person in addition to the virtual interaction.

In addition to core courses in English/language arts, math, science, history, world language, art and music, NVVA offers a robust Advanced Learner Program for students in kindergarten through eighth grade, while high school students can take honors and Advanced Placement® courses. Additionally, the school’s dual credit program, in collaboration with Nevada System of Higher Education, offers qualified juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn college credit up to an associate degree while enrolled at NVVA.

“Nevada Virtual Academy is a place where every student’s education is met with hands-on support and an individualized education plan for future successes,” said Yolanda Hamilton, head of school at Nevada Virtual Academy. “We truly take to heart our motto, ‘Every student, every day.’”

During the enrollment period, NVVA will be conducting online and in-person information sessions throughout the state. Interested families are encouraged to attend to meet teachers, staff and other families. For more information about NVVA and a list of upcoming events, visit http://nvva.k12.com.
