Students Invited to Enroll at Arizona Online Schools for 2017-18 School Year

Arizona Virtual Academy and Insight Academy of Arizona, both tuition-free online public schools for students throughout the state of Arizona, are now accepting applications for the 2017-18 academic year.

“Traditional brick-and-mortar education doesn’t work for everyone,” said Kelly Van Sande, head of school at Arizona Virtual Academy and Insight Academy of Arizona. “We believe we must meet the needs of our diverse student populations. Our schools remain devoted to making quality public education accessible for all Arizona students, regardless of geographic, financial or demographic circumstances.”

Arizona Virtual Academy (AZVA) is a public charter school serving Arizona students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Phoenix Business Journal has ranked AZVA among the top 50 public high schools in Arizona based on SAT scores two years in a row, and according to a spring 2016 survey conducted by Edge Research, 93 percent of the families with students enrolled during the 2015-16 school year felt that their child had benefitted academically from the curriculum.

Arizona students in grades 7-12 are welcome to attend Insight Academy of Arizona (ISAZ), whose comprehensive education approach focuses on providing struggling students with the academic, social and emotional support needed to succeed in school and beyond. Each student is equipped with an Individualized Learning Plan to help ensure they receive the academic, social and emotional support needed to reach graduation, and special programs like the Social and Emotional Learning Program and the family support team help students succeed both academically and personally.

AZVA and ISAZ offer families and students an alternative to traditional brick-and-mortar education. Both schools use the award-winning curriculum and tools provided by K12 Inc., the nation’s largest provider of proprietary curriculum and online education programs. State-certified teachers monitor student progress while providing professional insight and instruction.

The rigorous and engaging curriculum offered by the schools include courses in language arts/English, math, science, history, world languages, art and music. In addition, AZVA offers Advanced Placement® courses for high school students.

AZVA and ISAZ also offer unique blended learning programs, combining online courses with in-person instruction and support. Blended learning centers are located throughout the Phoenix Metro area, as well as Kingman and Tucson, and feature on-site instruction, student enrichment and socialization opportunities.

During the enrollment period, both schools will be conducting online and in-person information session throughout the state. Interested families are encouraged to attend to meet teachers, staff and other families and to learn more about the award-winning curriculum provided by K12.
