Students Invited to Enroll at Destinations Career Academy of Nevada for 2017-18 School Year

Enrollment is now open for the 2017-18 school year at Destinations Career Academy of Nevada (NVDCA), an online public charter school program authorized by the White Pine School District. The career and technical education (CTE)-focused school serves college- and technical career-minded students statewide in grades 9-12.

NVDCA gives students the opportunity to obtain specialty trade skills by offering four years of occupational training in an industry pathway of their choice. The school provides two program options for students in key industries of growth in the state: business management and administration and health science.

The rigorous and engaging curriculum offered by NVDCA also includes online courses in world languages and multiple versions of core academic subjects so that students receive an education tailored to their goals, abilities and interests. Advanced learners also have the ability to take AP® classes. State-licensed teachers provide instruction, guidance and support and interact with students and parents via email, web-based classrooms, online discussions, phone and face-to-face meetings.

“Attending and graduating from Destinations sets up your student for success,” said Danny Diamond, head of school at Destinations Career Academy of Nevada. “With access to college and career training, our students are equipped with job-ready skills to put to immediate use after high school.”

NVDCA provides every student with an Individualized Learning Plan (ILP), which is informed by teachers who work with students to make sure the lesson plans are based on the student’s needs and the progress the student has made to date, as well as the student’s personal interests and college and career aspirations.

Interested families are invited to attend in-person or online information sessions. For more information on enrollment and a complete list of events, visit http://nvdca.k12.com.
