Tennessee Virtual Academy Opens Enrollment Applications for the 2018-2019 School Year

Tennessee Virtual Academy (TNVA), an online public school program of Union County Public Schools, is now accepting enrollment applications for the 2018-2019 school year. A tuition-free public school, TNVA serves students statewide in Kindergarten through eighth grade.

Delivered entirely online, TNVA combines online instruction, rigorous curriculum, and the support of state-certified teachers to provide a personalized learning experience for each student. TNVA students access a robust online curriculum and attend live virtual classes with their teachers and peers. The school’s approach to learning helps prepare students for high school.

“At TNVA, we work with families to set up our students for long-term success,” says Head of School Jennifer Havens. “The online learning platform lets us meet the unique needs of every student, and provide them with a learning environment where they can truly thrive.”

Students take a full course load in the core subjects of English language arts, history, math and science, and topics and themes are integrated from one class to another. Beyond the core courses, TNVA offers electives in art and music. Throughout the year, TNVA offers community service opportunities, educational field trips, social outings and other activities to foster a sense of school community.

Students choose online school for a variety of reasons, including advanced learning, a bullying-free environment, and schedule flexibility to facilitate extracurricular pursuits or medical needs. TNVA’s online platform gives students the flexibility to pursue their academic goals in a supportive and safe environment, and at an appropriate pace for their learning style.

TNVA is now accepting enrollment applications for the 2018-2019 academic year. Families are encourage to attend an online or in-person information session hosted by the school. Information about TNVA and how to enroll, as well as a schedule of upcoming events, can be found at tnva.k12.com.
