Texas Virtual Academy Now Accepting Enrollment for 2017-18 School Year

Texas Virtual Academy (TXVA), a ResponsiveEd charter school in partnership with K12 Inc., is now accepting enrollment applications for the 2017-18 school year. TXVA is open to enroll students in grades 6-12 across the state of Texas. As a public school option, TXVA is tuition-free.

TXVA is dually accredited by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and the Southern Association of College and Schools Council (SACS), an accrediting division of AdvancED. All coursework is aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).

The school’s engaging curriculum includes courses in English/language arts, math, science, history, world languages, art and music, as well as numerous electives. College- or career-minded students can choose from a broad range of profession-focused courses in order to gain a competitive edge for the future, discover their path after high school or explore a possible college major.

State-certified teachers provide instruction, guidance and support and interact with students and parents via email, web-based classrooms, online discussions, phone and in-person meetings.

“At Texas Virtual Academy, our mission is to provide Texas students with an excellent education that is grounded in high academic standards in order to help our students achieve their full academic and social potential,” said Tina Littell, interim head of school at TXVA. “We believe that all young people can achieve academic excellence if they are provided the right tools and individual attention.”

In addition to a personalized education tailored to students’ needs, TXVA provides a supportive community to help address students’ academic challenges and the needs of their families.

During the enrollment period, TXVA will host online and in-person information sessions throughout the state. To learn more about TXVA and for a complete list of events, please visit http://txva.k12.com.
