Maine Virtual Academy Now Accepting Enrollments for 2018-2019 School Year

Maine Virtual Academy (MEVA), a statewide online public charter school, is now accepting enrollments for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. Authorized by the Maine Charter School Commission, MEVA is available tuition-free to students in grades 7-12 who reside anywhere in the state.

Delivered entirely online, MEVA offers a personalized approach to learning. Students receive the support and resources they need to pursue and reach their academic goals. Advanced independent learners are able to progress at an accelerated pace, while those who find content and concepts more challenging will receive additional live instruction and support to ensure academic success.

“MEVA empowers me to focus on academic success,” says high school senior Clarissa Hemphill of Fort Fairfield. “My teachers are engaging and supportive, and the wide variety of courses I have to choose from allows me to explore a wide range of interests.”

Students are offered a full course load in the core subjects of math, science, language arts, history, art and music. Electives include world languages in middle and high school, as well as high school honors and Advanced Placement® courses. MEVA also offers student clubs, field trips, social outings, and other activities to foster a sense of school community, including an in-person graduation ceremony in the spring.

MEVA students access a robust online curriculum and attend live virtual classes taught by Maine-licensed teachers. Students and families communicate with teachers via phone and email, and are provided with a unique approach to learning that helps prepare students for post-graduation career or college success.
