Crédit Agricole CIB Hires for the Global Markets Research Division

Crédit Agricole CIB hires two senior strategists in New York.

Alex Li is appointed Head of US Rates Strategy for the Global Markets Research division in New York. As Head of US Rates Strategy for the Global Markets Research division, Alex will develop interest rate research products in the US. Alex’s career in strategy spans more than two decades in the US, covering a broad range of fixed income products with a focus on interest rates. He reports globally to Mohit Kumar, Global Head of Rates Strategy and locally to Christine Cremel, Global Markets Regional COO for the Americas.

Prior to joining Crédit Agricole CIB, Alex was Chief US Treasury and Inflation Strategist at Deutsche Bank Securities, responsible for the development of client-facing interest rate research products in Treasuries, inflation-linked and interest rate futures, including strategy publications and quantitative models. Alex received his BS from the University of Toronto and his MS from Stanford University.

Italo Lombardi has joined Crédit Agricole CIB as the Latin America economist and strategist based in New York. Italo does economic and financial market analysis, including macroeconomics, politics, FX and interest rates for the main economies of Latin America.

He was the Latin America economist and strategist for more than five years at Standard Chartered, and previously at BNP Paribas in New York. He also worked at Roubini Global Economics. Italo holds a BA in economics from Ibmec Business School in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He reports globally to Sebastien Barbé, Head of Emerging Markets Research & Strategy, and locally to Christine Cremel, Global Markets Regional COO for the Americas.
