FRED’s core functionality, described in its name, is supported by RAD’s newest software release of the RAD Software Suite.

FRED is the third hardware product line released by RAD since RAD introduced its first hardware product SCOT™ in April 2018. FRED joins SCOT™ and Wally to complete RAD’s family of stationary security concierge devices, all powered by the RAD’s Software Suite v2.5.

FRED is specifically built in a form factor for installation for security access at gates and door entry points. It features RAD’s physical design motif as debuted by Wally. FRED, consistent with the rest of RAD’s stationary hardware lineup, can operate with no communications infrastructure but is built to appropriately open gates/doors and, at the customer’s request, integrate to pre-existing access control systems.

The RAD Software Suite v2.5 features the Facial Recognition Entry (FRE) software module and adds access control to the software offerings included to RAD customers. FRE works on all RAD hardware devices giving customers the ability to choose the best option for every particular situation, from vehicle access gates to high security office areas. FRE is an advanced innovation for clients for a multitude of reasons; including tri-credential validation, secure open integration to other platforms, and use of the RAD Software Suite as the single simple user interface.
