ARMOUR Residential REIT is a real estate investment trust. The company is managed by ARMOUR Capital Management LP, an investment advisor. The company invests in mortgage backed securities (MBS). Some MBS are issued or guaranteed by a United States Government-sponsored entity (GSE) or a government agency. The remaining MBS in which the company invests are either backed by hybrid adjustable rate or adjustable rate loans. Other MBS in which the company invests, for which the payment of principal and interest is not guaranteed by a GSE or government agency, may benefit from credit improvement derived from structural elements such as subordination, over collateralization or insurance.
