Axis Communications, the market leader in network video, today announced that Swank Boutique has deployed AXIS Companion in both of its small retail locations. With this solution, the specialty women’s fashion store has significantly improved their operational and surveillance measures.

A selection of AXIS Companion Dome V cameras are installed to protect Swank Boutique’s storefronts in Spokane, WA, and Boise, ID. Employees are able to monitor and react to incidents both on-site and remotely using AXIS Companion video management software and its mobile client. Using the AXIS Companion Recorder at each location, up to a month of video can be recorded and stored for easy retrieval.

Swank Boutique offers women’s accessories, jewelry, small gifts and clothing that can slip off hangers or fall victim to sleight of hand quite easily, making shoplifting attempts common. Prior consumer-grade cameras from a number of manufacturers did not provide high resolution video to stop these incidents. Swank Boutique employees now use AXIS Companion to investigate live video to see specifically if patrons may be trying to hide mischievous activity.

As the owner, Mallonee also confirms that the stores are opening on time and that her staff is acting according to their responsibilities.

When one location is experiencing high customer traffic, staff can call on the other store to pull up AXIS Companion to monitor the scene. The cameras provide an all-in-one solution that allows Swank Boutique to operate as expected and rely on the systems as tools should incidents occur.
