CACI Executive Chairman Dr. J.P. (Jack) London Receives Naval Historical Foundation 2017 Distinguished Service Award

CACI International Inc (NYSE:CACI) announced today that Dr. J.P. (Jack) London, CACI Executive Chairman and Chairman of the Board, has received the Naval Historical Foundation (NHF) 2017 Distinguished Service Award for his ongoing leadership in supporting naval history and heritage, and for exemplifying the NHF’s creed to preserve, honor, and commemorate naval history. The award was presented by NHF Chairman Admiral William J. Fallon, USN (Ret) at the National Maritime Awards Dinner on April 4, 2017, at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC.

“The United States Navy has a long and proud history as the world’s most powerful naval force,” said Dr. London. “It has been my privilege to serve the Navy as both a 24-year active duty and reserve officer and a 45-year veteran of CACI International Inc, where the Navy is our longest-held customer and one of our most valued. I am honored to receive this award, and truly grateful to have had the opportunity to contribute to preserving the Navy’s exceptional heritage and service to our nation.” Dr. London is a retired Navy captain.

One of Dr. London’s signature achievements in furthering the study of U.S. naval history is his creation in 2014 of the Captain Samuel Nicholson Naval and Marine Corps History and Leadership Award for the U.S. Naval Academy. The award honors a graduating midshipman who has demonstrated academic excellence in the field of history and leadership within the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, and Dr. London presents it at the Academy each year. Captain Nicholson was the first commander of the USS Constitution (“Old Ironsides”), and is one of three Continental Navy captains of the American Revolution to whom Dr. London traces his ancestry. Dr. London himself is also a graduate of both the Naval Academy and Naval Postgraduate School. He was presented the Naval Post Postgraduate School’s Distinguished Graduate Award in 2011.

CACI has provided innovative solutions and services to the Navy for more than 55 years. The company’s first contract, in June 1963, was to research and create computer simulations of the inventory control operations at the Navy’s Ships Parts Control Center in Mechanicsburg, Pa. Today, CACI supports multiple Navy customers with solutions that range from logistics, combat systems, and cyber security to intelligence, networks, and communications.

Ken Asbury, CACI’s President and Chief Executive Officer, said, “On behalf of everyone at CACI, I congratulate Dr. London on his recognition as a patriotic champion of the U.S. Navy’s proud heritage. Dr. London sets an example of service to our nation that inspires everyone at CACI to deliver innovation and excellence in all we do for our customers in the Armed Forces and throughout the federal government.”
