Celanese Announces Charges on Engineered Materials Product Shipments

Celanese Corporation (NYSE: CE), a global technology and specialty materials company, today announces that it will implement supplemental charges on all engineered materials product shipments effective on all orders received on or after April 1, 2018 for all non-contract business.

The addition of this charge is necessary due to the recent and significant product and logistics cost increases.

This charge will be $100 per metric ton for all product shipments until further notice. The charge is in addition to product price increases.

Celanese Chief Operating Officer Scott Sutton commented: “The tight supply chain and resulting cost increases we are experiencing make this step necessary. We will work closely with all non-contract customers to handle this situation in the best possible manner.”
