Sturdy Memorial Hospital selects Cerner EHR for cutting-edge functionality

ATTLEBORO, Mass., Feb. 28, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sturdy Memorial Hospital (SMH) is set to upgrade its current electronic health record (EHR) with a full suite of Cerner Millennium® acute, ambulatory and revenue cycle solutions. The community hospital signed a seven-year agreement with Cerner, a global leader in health care technology, to upgrade medical software at its 132-bed hospital in Attleboro, Massachusetts.

“For more than 100 years, SMH has remained dedicated to serving patients in this community, and providing the best quality care,” said Joseph Casey, president and CEO, SMH. “Through a shared strategic vision with Cerner, we are confident their software solutions will help us continue to grow, meeting patient needs both now and in the future.”

The Cerner platform is designed to make it easier for physicians, nurses and clinicians to share and access data across an entire organization. This platform offers documentation that can be updated in near real-time, which supports physicians in providing personalized and efficient care. The patient portal feature integrates with the EHR, allowing patients to communicate with providers through secure messaging, book or change appointments and view clinical information.

Through this agreement SMH will use Cerner CommunityWorksSM, a cloud-based deployment model, tailored to help community health care organizations securely manage patient health history, including clinical and financial data. The software deployed through this model is designed to support transparency between patients and their care team and bring true interoperability to the health system.

“We work hard to develop software that provides cutting-edge, reliable EHR solutions to our clients,” said Mitchell Clark, president, CommunityWorks, Cerner. “Our model is well-suited for a health system of this size and designed to address their unique needs. We look forward to working with Sturdy as they usher in new, more efficient workflows through this platform to help improve patient care.”
