Clearfield Awarded NEBS Level 3 Certification

Clearfield, Inc. (NASDAQ:CLFD), the specialist in fiber management for communication service providers, today reaffirmed its commitment to deliver carrier-class network reliability for network operators with independent certification of NEBS Level 3 (Network Equipment Building System) on products in the Clearfield FieldSmart fiber management platform. With NEBS certification, these products provide maximum assurance for telecommunications service providers that require the highest reliability, durability and performance.

“With the amount of data traffic exploding and service providers anxious to expand their networks to keep up, it is important to have carrier-class products that can be trusted to perform reliably,” said Johnny Hill, chief operating officer at Clearfield. “Securing this independent certification is a formal validation that we have always designed and internally tested to rigorous standards to meet the needs of our customers and the market.”

NEBS provides the highest assurance of product operability following the Telcordia specifications applied for telecommunications equipment. These certifications are required by Tier 1 wireline and wireless providers protecting optical fiber in interconnect or cross-connect environments. The NEBS certified products conform to the specifications withstanding varying elements including, fire suppression, thermal margin testing, humidity and altitude, vibration resistance in case of earthquakes and transportation, as well as grounding and bonding requirements. Network integrity and equipment compatibility are of great importance to service providers and Clearfield is positioned to provide products that uphold this compliance.
