Danske Bank appoints new Group COO

Danske Bank A/S has appointed Frans Woelders as Group COO and member of the Executive Leadership Team with overall responsibility for Group Services and Group IT.

Frans Woelders joins from the position of Chief Digital Officer for Personal Banking of Royal Bank of Scotland. Prior to that, he has experience from positions with ABN AMRO Bank, including as CEO of Retail Banking and as Group Chief Information Officer.

“I am very pleased that Frans Woelders will join our team. He brings extensive experience from top management positions in the financial sector and has delivered very good results both in relation to the IT and retail banking areas and in terms of bringing these areas closer together. This means that he is very well suited for supporting our ambitions for developing our business in the coming years, where we will invest in further digitalisation across the bank. I am convinced that he will contribute significantly to our efforts to become a better bank to the benefit of all our stakeholders, and we look forward to welcoming Frans Woelders,” says CEO Chris Vogelzang.

Frans Woelders will take up the position as Group COO on 1 June 2020 at the latest. In the meantime, CEO Chris Vogelzang will continue to head the COO area.
