Over 5,000 bike fans from throughout Europe provided details of their biking preferences. This means that more than four times as many riders took part in the survey as last year. The results of the survey paint a picture of the typical European biker. All participants answered three questions which tracked the plans of bike lovers: about their planned tour lengths in kilometres, as well as in numbers of days, and their preferred brand of tyres.
British bikers
Just over a third (34%) of British bikers were planning tours with a total length between 3,000 and 5,500 kilometres. This showed a preference for trips which can be completed over a long weekend: for the majority of respondents (23%), their longest trip would last between two and five days. When it comes to tyre brands, the Brits bet on European products and premium brands: the most popular manufacturers are Michelin, Bridgestone, and Metzeler.
