The Finish Line Youth Foundation Donates $386,635 in Q4 2017

The Finish Line Youth Foundation announced today its award of $136,635 in grants and $250,000 in donations for Special Olympics in the fourth quarter of 2017. The 16 grants to youth organizations in 9 states and the territory of Puerto Rico support healthy lifestyles and youth development. The Foundation’s financial commitment to Special Olympics supports fitness initiatives that focus on helping athletes with intellectual disabilities nationwide live a healthier lifestyle.

“These camps and programs celebrate supporting life’s biggest possibilities nationwide for children to pursue a life of wellness in fun and unique ways,” said Marty Posch, Finish Line Youth Foundation president.

LEGACY GRANTS:

The Arc of San Diego (San Diego) $35,000 for the Finish Line Thrive and Strive Playground and Activity Center.

Hav A Sole (Los Angeles) $31,635 to support a new office space and storage for donated product.

Asamblea Familiar Virgilio Davila (Bayamon, P.R.) $5,000 to provide Hurricane Maria disaster relief.

CAMPS:

Cambridge Camping (Cambridge, Mass.) $5,000 for fitness upgrades at Cambridge Adventure Day Camp serving 100 youth.

Camp Sweet Life Adventures (Mankato, Minn.) – $5,000 to support camp for 300 disadvantaged youth.

Cardinal Shehan Center (Bridgeport, Conn.) $ 5,000 for summer day camp for 300 disadvantaged youth.

Fight for Life Foundation (Indianapolis) – $5,000 for the Seal the Deal Flag Football Camp and Tournament for 280 at-risk youth.

Hear Indiana (Indianapolis) – $5,000 for the Listening and Spoken Language Camp for 70 deaf and hard of hearing children.

Homefront (Lawrenceville, N.J.) – $5,000 to support summer camp for 155 homeless children.

Indiana Blind Children’s Foundation (Indianapolis) – $5,000 for the Expanding Your Horizons Camp for 30 blind children.

Moorestown Visiting Nursing Association (Moorestown, N.J.) – $5,000 to support Camp Firefly bereavement camp for 70 children who have lost a loved one.

HEALTHY LIFESTYLES:

Empower Sports (Cleveland) $5,000 for Empower Basketball Teams for 150 children with special needs.

Kidpower Teenpower Fullpower (Castro Valley, Calif) – $5,000 for positive peer interaction and teambuilding for 1,000 disadvantaged and youth with special needs.

Special Kids Special Families (Colorado Springs, Colo.) – $5,000 to support Zach’s Place for Children with Disabilities serving 85 children with disabilities.

To By for Kids Foundation (Oklahoma City) – $5,000 to support the Ready to Run program serving 1,300 at-risk youth.

Trinity Boston Foundation (Boston) – $5,000 to support Sole Train: Boston Runs Together for 300 youth.
