Green Dot Corporation (NYSE: GDOT) today announced a series of recent awards recognizing its innovation in financial technology and consumer banking.
2017 Pay Awards
Walmart MoneyCard by Green Dot has been chosen by Paybefore judges as a 2017 Pay Awards winner in the Consumer Champion and Change Agent of the Year categories, and the innovative Walmart Prize Savings program by Green Dot Bank was selected as a winner in the Best Incentive Program category. In addition, SimplyPaid by Green Dot was selected as a winner in the Most Innovative Technology category, while the rapid! PayCard Payroll Card by UniRush (a Green Dot Company) was chosen as a winner in the Outstanding Pay Solution category.
Announced by Paybefore on April 26, these all now vie for 2017 Pay Awards Best-in-Category distinctions, which will be announced in Pay News the week of June 12. Visitors to Paybefore.com will have a chance to vote on Best in Category through May 31. The outcome of this vote will be combined with the judges’ picks to determine Best-in-Category honorees, all of which will be profiled in the Pay Magazine – Awards Issue.
Best of FinXTech Awards
The Uber Debit Card from GoBank with its Instant Pay feature won at the 2nd annual Best of FinXTech Awards, which highlights collaborative efforts between banks and fintech companies working together in a successful partnership. Announced at a live ceremony that concluded the FinXTech Annual Summit in New York on April 26, the Uber/Green Dot collaboration was chosen from a pool of over 100 entrants and 10 finalists.
The Uber Debit Card from GoBank is a mobile-first small business checking account with a linked debit card. Instant Pay offers drivers the ability to get paid instantly after each completed fare.
2017 PYMNTS Innovator Awards
The Walmart MoneyCard Prize Savings Program was honored at the 2017 PYMNTS Innovator Awards in the Best Prepaid Innovation Category. Announced at a live ceremony and awards dinner on March 16, Walmart MoneyCard was presented with the category’s Silver Medal for the introduction of the first national and retail offered prize-linked savings program that provides incentives for building a savings account. Prize Savings was launched in August 2016 and gives Walmart MoneyCard cardholders a chance to win monthly prizes as an incentive for stashing cash in the integrated FDIC-insured Green Dot Bank Savings Vault.
