Mikael Nylund appointed CEO of Gofore, Timur Kärki nominated for full-time Chairman of the Board - Gofore aims for the official list of Nasdaq Helsinki in 2021 

The Board of Directors of Gofore Plc has appointed Mikael Nylund (44) as the new CEO of the company as of 11 December 2019. The current CEO and one of Gofore's founders, Timur Kärki, is nominated for full-time Chairman of the Board. 

Mikael Nylund has played a significant role in developing Gofore’s operations since 2010. He has been deputy CEO since 2018 and has been on the Executive Management Team since 2010, most recently responsible for M&A and the management consulting business.

A separate notice is given to Extraordinary General Meeting. The Board proposes to the General Meeting that Timur Kärki be elected as a new member of the Board. At the same time, long-serving Chairman of the Board Ali U. Saadetdin will resign. In addition, all Board members have informed the company that if Timur Kärki is elected a Board member, they will elect him as full-time Charirman of the Board. Kärki has been the CEO of the company since 2010. During this time, the company has grown from about EUR 1 million in net sales to its current size. 

“After my long term as CEO, I want to take a new perspective on company management. I am ambitious and result-driven about my future role as Chairman of the Board of Directors. We strive to maintain the company's unique culture and value base, which will also form the basis for our future growth”, says Timur Kärki.  

The Board of Directors of Gofore has set a target for the company to transit to the official list of Nasdaq Helsinki stock exchange in 2021. The company's shares are currently quoted in the First North Growth Market Finland maintained by Nasdaq Helsinki Oy. In connection with the listing, the company has begun preparations for, amongst other things, the transition to IFRS financial reporting.  

“Since the listing on First North two years ago, Gofore has grown to the next company size classification. In my role as Chairman of the Board, I have more time for strategic projects, such as preparing for the transition to the official list of Nasdaq Helsinki, Kärki says.
