home24 announces changes in the Management Board

• Marc Appelhoff extends his contract and becomes Chairman of the Management Board (CEO) of the home24 SE with effect from 1 January 2020
• Christoph Cordes leaves the Management Board at his own request at the end of the year
• Senior Vice President Brigitte Wittekind becomes member of the Management Board

Christoph Cordes will leave the Company at his own request with effect of 31 December 2019. Brigitte Wittekind, who joined the Company in 2014, will succeed as a member of the Management Board. In her position as Senior Vice President, she was instrumental for the successful implementation of key operational investment projects. Before her involvement with home24, Brigitte Wittekind worked as an entrepreneur and for other e-commerce companies, where she held various management positions. Johannes Schaback, who had already extended his contract in March, Marc Appelhoff and Brigitte Wittekind will continue to form the three-member leadership team of home24 in the future.

The Supervisory Board sees the Management Board well positioned to drive home24's development forward, thanks Christoph Cordes and looks forward to working with Brigitte Wittekind. "We would like to thank Christoph Cordes for his great commitment and successful contribution," says Lothar Lanz, Chairman of the Supervisory Board. "He was a driving force in developing home24 into a leading online platform for Home & Living in continental Europe through his expertise and entrepreneurial spirit. We are delighted that Brigitte Wittekind is now moving up to the Management Board, she is an excellent successor. It's also the first time a woman is taking a seat on our Management Board. Based on her experience and many years of working for home24, we are convinced of a seamless transition after the resignation of Christoph Cordes".

Christoph Cordes looks back on many years of experience in the online furniture business: "After exciting but also demanding ten years and a challenging year 2018, home24 will be well positioned in its operating business by the end of 2019. With a talented and committed team, we have successfully built fashion4home and home24 in the last years. Now, the time has come for me to dedicate myself to new professional challenges".

Brigitte Wittekind is looking forward to her new responsibilities: "home24 is a great company and has not yet reached its full potential. As a member of the Management Board, my goal will be to further expand our leading position in the online home & living market. I am supported by an amazing team that shares my passion for this".
