IDC and TRU Aseptics Commence Sales & Marketing Alliance in USA

International Dispensing Corporation (IDC) (IDND) and TRU Aseptics announced their collaboration to market The Answer® aseptic dispensing system for UHT beverages throughout North America.

TRU Aseptics, a contract beverage co-packer based in Beloit, Wisconsin, delivers safe, high-quality, shelf-stable products that do not require refrigeration or preservatives and can be stored and distributed at ambient temperatures. Its 65,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility is designed to run both low and high-acid products. Just recently, its new high-speed Alfa Laval aseptic BIB (Bag-in-Box) filler was validated by an FDA Processing Authority to run The Answer® for low-acid UHT products and TRU Aseptics is now ready to use The Answer® for all its customers.

IDC has created, patented, and commercialized The Answer®, the world’s only aseptic tap that can safely dispense UHT liquids from a large-format (3-25 liter) flexible package while continuing to preserve the sterility of the package’s remaining contents for an extended period of time (weeks/months) without refrigeration or preservatives.

“This IDC opportunity is an exciting one for TRU Aseptics,” said TRU’s CEO Jim Hurley. “The Answer® is one of the few game-changing packaging innovations in recent years, one that solves many issues and can become the gold standard for aseptic foodservice. We already have several customers that will use The Answer®, and as a company are ready to take the lead in North America and make it the centerpiece of our foodservice efforts.”

“We are very pleased to be partnering with such a forward-looking company as TRU Aseptics,” said IDC Chairman Greg Abbott. “They have seized the bull by the horns by creating the finest low-acid aseptic facility in America and by embracing our disruptive innovation in a comprehensive manner. We anticipate great success with them.”
