Special Features and Artist Lineup Announced for the Other Art Fair Chicago Presented by Saatchi Art

A Leading Fair for Discovering Emerging Artists Announces Official Lineup and Programming for its Debut in Chicago, Including Artwork by Chicago’s Own Contemporary Artist Hebru Brantley

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Sept. 24, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Other Art Fair (“TOAF” or the "Fair”), a leading art fair for discovering independent emerging artists, has released its and programming for its debut in Chicago. The Fair’s Midwest edition will take place September 28–30, during Art Week Chicago, and will be located at Mana Contemporary Chicago in the arts-centric neighborhood of Pilsen.

In support of , the Fair’s official charity partner, Chicago-based artist will be the guest artist for the Fair in Chicago. Brantley, who will present a limited edition print sold exclusively at the Fair in Chicago, is known for his brightly colored iconic characters. His sculptures, mural and graffiti works have made him a highly sought-after rising star—his works have been exhibited in solo gallery and museum shows, as well as in art fairs including Art Basel Switzerland, Art Basel Miami and Frieze London.

Below are some of the highlighted features of the Fair in Chicago:

  • will be driving down illiteracy by raising awareness for its Library Project.  This project is a literacy initiative that places custom book boxes in Chicago parks. Saatchi Art artists have designed special editions of the boxes to be auctioned at the fair in support of Charity Partner Little Black Pearl Academy

  • TOAF After Dark Sponsored by The Cooper Southbank will be held on Saturday, September 29 from 6pm–10pm, and guests will enjoy a late evening of art, live music, drinks and special programming

     
  • The will host an engaging panel discussion on Friday, September 28 entitled AIR: The Role of the Residency Within an Artist's Practice

     
  • , a brand and incubator space for artists and the people, will host an interactive art installation including live poetry by Melissa Castro Almandina

     
  • Non-profit organization, Arts of Life, will host an art installation titled: .  The non-profit is dedicated to creating a working, person-centric, artistic community while providing a work environment of equality in Chicago

     
  • Multi-disciplinary artist will be selling exclusive prints onsite. Irwin works in several facets of artistic production, including design, printmaking, and sculpture

The Other Art Fair Chicago will donate 100% of ticket sales from the Private View on Friday, September 28 to Little Black Pearl, the Fair's official charity partner.
