MAXIMUS to Share Insights about Conflict-Free Assessments and Provider Enrollment, Screening and Credentialing at Medicaid Managed Care Congress

MAXIMUS (NYSE:MMS), a leading provider of government services worldwide, announced today that Barbara Selter and John P. Crouse will be featured presenters at this year’s Medicaid Managed Care Congress.

Ms. Selter, Vice President of Health Services and an expert with more than 30 years of experience in coordinating solutions for long-term services and supports (LTSS), will lead a panel discussion titled “The Importance of Conflict-Free Assessments in MLTSS Environments.” Her presentation will discuss the impact of conflict-free assessments on beneficiaries and providers, how different states are interpreting the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Managed Care Rule, and the most successful models for complying with conflict-free requirements. The panel will include MAXIMUS colleagues Nancy Shanley, Vice President of Consulting and Policy Analysis, and Susan Mohen, Nurse Director for the New York Conflict-Free Evaluation and Enrollment Center. Ms. Shanley and Ms. Mohen will also identify best practices and make recommendations for successfully implementing conflict-free assessments.

Mr. Crouse, Vice President of Health Services and an expert with more than 25 years of experience in provider management and program integrity, will give a presentation titled “Provider Enrollment and Screening Meets Credentialing – Where States are Headed.” Mr. Crouse will discuss the new requirements for provider enrollment and screening, such as periodic background and sanction checks, facility site visits and fees and the role of Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) in the process. In addition, he will discuss how certain states are streamlining the process and the implications for Medicaid programs, MCOs and providers.

“We are excited for this opportunity to share how MAXIMUS continues to support state Medicaid programs with innovative business process solutions for long-term care and provider management,” said Bruce Caswell, President of MAXIMUS. “Our presenters and panelists will provide valuable insight for how states can achieve compliance with new mandates while improving program integrity and beneficiary outcomes.”

The Medicaid Managed Care Congress is a meeting that convenes State Medicaid Directors and representatives from CMS and managed care organizations to examine current federal and state policies and understand their impact on the managed care industry, as well as share strategies to improve quality, manage cost, and drive Medicaid innovation. The conference will take place May 22-24, 2017 at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore Inner Harbor in Maryland. To learn more, visit https://lifesciences.knect365.com/medicaidmanagedcarecongress/.
