NEW YORK, Aug. 24, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- At the end of the settlement date of August 15, 2018, short interest in 2,360 Nasdaq Global MarketSM securities totaled 7,299,646,328 shares compared with 7,262,547,835 shares in 2,368 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of July 31, 2018. The mid-July short interest represents 4.90 days average daily Nasdaq Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 4.88 days for the prior reporting period.
Short interest in 927 securities on The Nasdaq Capital MarketSM totaled 1,107,220,091 shares at the end of the settlement date of August 15, 2018 compared with 1,118,675,308 shares in 908 securities for the previous reporting period. This represents 3.39 days average daily volume, compared with the previous reporting period’s figure of 3.42.
