Piper Jaffray Expands Industrials Investment Banking Group with Hiring of Doug Lawson

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Piper Jaffray Companies (NYSE: PJC), a leading investment bank and asset management firm, is pleased to announce the hiring of Doug Lawson as a managing director in the diversified industrials & services investment banking group. Lawson has extensive experience in the packaging, plastics and paper sectors. He is based in the firm’s Charlotte office.

Lawson re-joined Piper Jaffray from Lazard Middle Market, where he served as a managing director in its industrials investment banking group. Prior to Lazard, he was a managing director in the industrials group at BMO Capital Markets. Prior to BMO, Lawson was in the industrial investment banking group at Piper Jaffray. He previously held senior positions at ABN AMRO Inc. and Duff & Phelps Credit Rating Company. Early in his career, Lawson worked at the law firm of McCarthy Tetrault and as an accountant at Ernst & Young and Coopers & Lybrand in Toronto.
