Plantronics Recognized by Leesman as a Leader in Employee Satisfaction and Workplace Effectiveness for Its European Headquarters

Survey from renowned global business intelligence firm ranks Plantronics Netherlands office among the world’s best

SANTA CRUZ, Calif., June 26, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Plantronics (NYSE:PLT), an audio pioneer and communications technology leader, today announced that its European headquarters in Hoofddorp, Netherlands, has been ranked as of one the world’s most effective and satisfying work environments for employees by Leesman, a global firm that examines how workplaces affect employee and organizational performance.  

Leesman determined the ranking using its , a global business intelligence rating system, which captures employee feedback on how effectively the workplace supports them. The Leesman Index measures a variety of factors, including employee satisfaction around the level of support for important work activity, as well as acoustics, temperature and natural light in the office.

The Plantronics European headquarters garnered the highest Leesman ranking possible, known as Leesman+, which is awarded to an elite group of workplaces that score 70 Lmi or above on Leesman’s standardized performance scale. Plantronics scored 82.3 Lmi which places the office in the top three Leesman+ buildings in Europe and makes it the highest scoring Leesman+ building in the Netherlands. Only 6 percent of all workplaces measured by Leesman have received the Leesman+ certification.

The Hoofddorp office actively applies the Plantronics framework, which comprises people, places and technology to help ensure an optimal, holistic employee experience. Every single aspect of the Hoofddorp building – the architectural design, materials, interior furnishings, desk layout and even the pictures on the wall – were selected purposefully around employee needs to develop the most engaging and collaborative work environment possible. In order to combat speech distraction, the number one problem with the open office, Plantronics installed its intelligent acoustic management system called Habitat Soundscaping. Highlights from the Leesman Index survey include:

• 91 percent of Plantronics employees say the office design creates an enjoyable work environment, and all (97 percent) say they’re proud to host visitors here.
• A further 87 percent say the office allows them to work productively, with nearly 85 percent saying it helps them share ideas and knowledge with their colleagues.
• Employee satisfaction with noise levels in the office is more than double the Leesman benchmark. 
• The vast majority (90 percent) are happy with the variety of places to work in the office, showcasing the building’s ability to support people with different workstyles.
• More than 90 percent of people surveyed believe the workplace has an impact on environmental sustainability, an issue that resonates with most workers and shows support for the ethos of the office park that houses the Hoofddorp building, known as Park 20|20.

Methodology of the Leesman Index for Plantronics

The survey of Plantronics staff took place between November 23, 2017 and February 4, 2018, with a total of 74 respondents from its office taking part. Leesman also conducted an earlier survey at Plantronics previous office location between February 4-12, 2015, revealing a 7.1 percent increase in the most recent results.
